9th Grade Lagoon Day

Hailey told me as they were heading out for Lagoon Day with the rest of the 9th grade, that she and her friends were going to do the terrifying ride that is a free fall called the SkyCoaster. I was nauseous just thinking about her doing that let alone seeing these pictures they took! Nick and his friends did this last year as well...it must be some right of passage to get out of the 9th grade.

Suiting up...

 All ready for their turn...
Getting ready to be hooked up...
...and they're ready to be raised up to a height that terrifies me to my core!!!
 Up they go...
...and they're literally flying through the air!!!
These last two pictures are some how out of order...but they did make it safely back down to the ground! Mother's prayers are answered!!!!
 ...still flying.
CRAZY GIRLS!!!!!

Happy Birthday Hailey - FIFTEEN

I refuse to believe my BABY is FIFTEEN...that is really unbelievable to me!

Her birthday fell on Memorial Day this year so without school to go to, her day started with her friends coming to kidnap her and take her to breakfast.

Then she came home and opened presents...
The biggest surprise were the tickets to WICKED!!! That's definitely a "what's in it for me present" because she's going to need someone to escort her to that show and that "someone" is going to be ME! :)
Then she was sweet enough to go to the Carl Bloch exhibit with me since it was the last day and I really wanted to see it.

After that I dropped her and her friend off at the Highland pond and they spent some time wandering around and taking pictures.
Nick had to work all day and was going to miss her birthday dinner so we took him some food. :)
She picked Tucano's for her dinner and invited a couple of friends along since most of her friends were busy with their families for Memorial Day...we're going to have a bbq in June for a 2nd birthday for her when the rest of her friends are available. :)
This was when our waiter scared her to death by bringing out the loud people to sing Happy Birthday to a person next to us...she was terrified it was for her even though she asked the guy not to do it. :)
...and of course a picture with the Rocky Mountain Chocolate bear.
With this awesome age comes the moment she's been waiting for for a LONG time (and every parent dreads)...getting her drivers permit. She passed the test on her first try and walked out of there pretty excited.

I had to add in this picture because I love her hair in it. :)
And she's off...why on earth the state of Utah thinks it's a good idea to have parents teach their children to drive is beyond me. Bad idea!!!!! Bad, bad idea!!!
Amongst all the excitement of the last few days, sadly we had to say goodbye to Sis Jensen. She was transferred down to Orem.

Braces are off...FINALLY!

Nick got his first round of braces on in 6th grade...today, 4 years later, he got MOST of his braces off. Hurray!!!!

The orthodontist said Nick has some of the most stubborn teeth he has ever worked with and they even needed to order in special stainless steel wiring to get them to move. He still has 4 or 5 brackets on his bottom teeth because they are refusing to move. We'll see when he finally gets those off.

Mother's Day

The HIGHLIGHT of Mother's Day was getting to Facetime with ELDER MORROW!!!

We love his letters each week but there is nothing like being able to see his cute face, hear his cute voice and experience his fun personality!!!!!

Brian did a great job of spoiling me all day but I have to say my favorite thing about today was that he used the ice cream scooper to stir the spaghetti sauce. :)
We had a lovely meal of spaghetti, bread & salad made by my wonderful husband and kids...nice they could all pose nicely for a picture. :)
I'm a lucky mom!!!!! For real! :)

A Few Random Shots

Haha...notice the heart they are making with their fingers. :)

Poor swollen nose.

Brian thought the vase that was in the dishwasher was a cup and that it was the perfect size for his rootbeer float...hahaha!

Hailey's temple trip with the young women.

Hailey and her friends did a fun photo shoot...super cute girls.

Traditional Burning

I LOVE when these awesome sisters come back for a baptism...because that means they get to stop by our house for lunch...and a quick burning of the clothing at the traditional 6 month and 1 year mark. :)

Sis Cochrane's companion has been out 8 months so she burned a pair of nylons and tied them in an 8 shape...totally made me laugh. :)

She threw them in their so fast I missed the picture. :)
...and then there was Sis Dahl who held onto it so long I was sure she was going to set herself on fire. :)

We love these girls so much and keep praying that they'll come back to our area...but I guess the Lord needs them somewhere else right now. :)
