Happy Early Birthday to Hailey

Brian and I had told Hailey not to expect a car for her 16th birthday and we told both Nick and Hailey that they would be sharing the car we got Nick. There had already been some heated arguments about how to pay for gas, how to divide time, etc but they were beginning to figure out how to talk about it in a solution-oriented way rather than just arguing. Around that same time though Brian and I started toying with the idea of actually getting her a car if we could find a good deal.

All the stars happened to align and we found a great car at a good deal and we bought it. The problem was that we were still 3 months out from her birthday and we would have to keep it a secret. So we stored it in Grandma and Grandpa Walker's garage. But within a week, Brian was already starting to slip and say things about it with Hailey in the room but we tried to blow off the comment he was making and she bought it. But we realized we'd have to give her the car soon or we would blow the surprise. So, still 3 months till her birthday, we gave her her birthday present and she was SHOCKED!

It was a Sunday afternoon and she and Courtney were taking a nap on the couch. I woke her up to tell her we were going to Grandma's and she was ornery and wanted us to wait to go until after her nap. I told her we couldn't wait and we were going now...which ticked her off haha. I told her Grandpa wanted to see her new camera she got for Christmas and also talk to her about basketball. So when we got there she went into grandpas den and showed him the camera then I grabbed it from her while she talked to him about basketball so I could use it to take pictures of her big surprise.

Grandma then lured her to the garage by saying, "Hailey, come to the garage with me...I found this thing out on the street and I'm not sure what to do with it." She was thinking it was an animal or something and it was so mysteries that she was scared to go out there haha. Once she got out there though she immediately started crying when she saw her very own car. :)

It was such a priceless moment and she was sooooooooooooo grateful!!!!!!! :) Now she just begins the torture of waiting till she's 16 to get her license. :)
