Today I am thankful for the freedom we celebrated over the 4th of July. I'm also thankful for the fun times we had with each other and with friends over the holiday. It's always nice to take a break from everyday life and spend time together! Nick said that he likes this holiday even more than his birthday because he LOVES lighting the fireworks. :) We're just grateful he didn't set himself or others on fire in the process. :) Brian and the kids and I went golfing on Monday and it was a lot of fun but I forgot to bring my camera so no pictures of that outing. :) Hailey had a great time driving one of the golf carts and keeping score for us. Nick loved golfing!
The prized fireworks!!
As you can see it was a windy night and on the cold side!!
Another thing I am thankful for this week is that at Hailey's follow up appointment with the knee doctor we found out her knee has healed amazingly and there's NO SURGERY REQUIRED!!! Hurray!!! They were actually surprised that it's healed so well that she doesn't even need physical therapy either! Yeah...prayers were answered. She was SO nervous going into the appointment and SO happy coming out! :) She's now back to doing handstands and cartwheels! :)
I'm also thankful for the neat service project that is done at Nick's basketball camp each year. It's Travis Hansen's camp...he played for BYU, the NBA and is currently playing in Europe...and has a charity called Little Heroes. Each year during one of the camp days they have the kids participating in the camp stay a half hour after and put together school kits. Last year his foundation built a school in Africa and the school kits were sent there along with pictures of each of the kids and a note they wrote. This year Travis found there was a great need within a school district in southern Utah County so the school kits will be going there. Very cool that they help these kids combine sports and charity.

Yeah for Hailey and miracles and NO SURGERY needed!
ReplyDeleteYou know, the order of your photos doesn't ever seem odd to me. I just like seeing them. These are great shots filled with jubilation! Libby and I are off to the Baltimore Aquarium and a few days in a lovely hotel. There's an Imax theatre across the street, a science museum, a dolphin show, and lots more besides the extraordinary aquarium. Getting away feels so good!
